• Our provision of legal services:  If you are a client of Aptt Law, you will provide us with personal information when you or the organization you represent becomes a client, and as necessary in the course of our providing legal services. If you are not a client, you may provide us with your personal information because you attend meetings at our office or otherwise are involved in one of our clients’ matters. 

• Recruitment applications and employment: When you apply for or accept a role with us, you may provide us with your full name, date of birth, nationality, education and qualification details, gender, resume, CV, photograph, passport details, bank account details, marital status, home address, home telephone number, mobile number and other details set out in your application. 

Use of Cookies: A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is sent by our web server to your computer or mobile device when you access our Website. Non-Personally Identifying Information (“Non-PII”) we may collect from you:

E-mails sent through website:

Aptt Law LLC will take every effort to secure information and documentation sent to us through the Website E-Mail system by encrypting such communications and storing documentation offsite. This does not mean that E-mails sent to us through the Website are necessarily secure and we make no representation that any data contained in an E-mail sent to us will be secure. Thus, if your communication is highly sensitive or contains confidential information, you may want to send it to us via regular mail. We restrict access to the personal data of our clients to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.

Our Website contains links to other web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other web sites and visiting these websites is not governed by this Privacy Policy Agreement.

We share personal information among our offices, including our offices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as any office(s) we may open in the future.

Google Analytics. This Website may use Google Analytics, which is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is anonymized before being shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Aptt Law LLC is committed to securing your data and keeping it confidential. Aptt Law LLC has done all in its power to prevent data theft, unauthorized access, and disclosure by implementing the latest technologies and software, which help us safeguard all the information we collect online.

The Aptt Law LLC Website was built with full consideration for the Security and Privacy concerns of every individual. Aptt Law LLC is proud of the innovations created in order to protect the data and personal identities of our clients. These innovations are found throughout every component of the Website. Security and Privacy are secured by a combination of employing the correct technology, proper system design and architecture, as well as strict policies and procedures consistent with applicable data protection laws. 

• Firewalls- All the Website equipment and applications are secured behind Firewalls. Firewalls are security devices that create a barrier between the wide-open Internet and the equipment and applications used by the Website. Firewalls limit ways that can inflict harm on data, equipment, or application. All access to the application network must pass through these firewalls. An additional layer of protection is created by implementing additional firewalls to secure access to the Portal from the application servers. 

• Intrusion Detection- The entire production network is automatically monitored and policed for intrusion attempts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Any attempts detected are analyzed to determine the identity of the intruders and the extent of the intrusion. 

• Stata Security – Every client’s account data is stored and transmitted in an encrypted format at all times across multiple, distributed database systems, all securely housed at GoDaddy, a leading Internet server hosting service provider that provides enhanced physical security, fire protection and electronic shielding for the systems that businesses use to conduct electronic commerce transactions.

• Audits and Inspections- The Website security infrastructure is regularly audited and inspected to ensure the security tools utilized are up to date.

• Physical Security- Website equipment is located in a secure Class A data center, where security personnel monitor the system 24 hours a day. Portal restricts physical access to our equipment to a very select group of authorized personnel only. 

• SSL – All information is transmitted through Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which creates an encrypted connection between a user’s browser and the Website servers. This prevents information from being stolen while it is being transmitted over the Internet. Aptt Law LLC uses Verisign, a recognized industry leader in security technology, to provide this service. As a Verisign Secure Site, users who access the Portal can trust that its identity has been validated by Verisign. 

In the unfortunate event of a data breach, Aptt Law LLC will notify users of the nature, extent and possible consequences of said data breach via email and letter.

Security of your personal information:

If you are a client of Aptt Law, electronic communications between you and us, including via our website, may be treated as legally privileged, as attorney work product or otherwise confidentially under applicable rules of professional responsibility. Nothing in this notice is intended to affect such protections for existing clients. If you are not a client of Aptt Law, your communications with us are not eligible for such protection except for certain limited special circumstances.

This Privacy Notice shall be governed by, construed and entered in accordance with the laws of the State of Rhode Island applicable to contracts deemed to be made within such state, without regard to choice of law or conflict of law provisions thereof. All disputes with respect to this Privacy Notice shall be brought and heard either in the Rhode Island State Courts located in Rhode Island, or the federal district court for Providence, Rhode Island. You consent to the in personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
